Shades of Us Storytelling Initiative for African People (‘Shades of Us’) is a non-profit organization using storytelling to address the socio-economic issues affecting Africa, Africans, and people of African descent, to facilitate open and honest conversations that lead to introspection, analysis and perspective change towards the greater goal of a redefined continent and people.
Shades of Us aims to promote a just, equitable, and sustainable society for Africans and people of African descent.
This goal is further expanded in the following objectives:
- Use storytelling to promote equitable societies for African people.
- Spark conversations on human rights, roles, and responsibilities for more equal African societies.
- Promote African cultures and increase indigenous, national, regional, and continental pride in our heritage.
- Promote learning, development, and capacity building of young people to push for African development and growth.
- Create safe spaces for survivors of abuse geared at facilitating healing and shared communities for growth.

Job Title: Content Creator (Audio) – Shades of Us
Location: Abuja (Hybrid – 75% Remote)

Job Summary
We are looking for a creative, dedicated individual to volunteer on our team as an Audio and Video Editor. The individual would create tailored audio content for our websites, social media handles, and newsletters.
Responsibilities
Develop weekly scripts for review podcast episodes.
Develop weekly scripts for social commentary podcast episodes.
Record and edit weekly review podcast episodes.
Record and edit weekly social commentary podcast episodes.
Seek audio content for film score, soundtrack, and audio and audiovisual content.
Support community engagement activities.
Document community engagement activities.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess:
Basic understanding of the sustainable development goals.
Training in multimedia and communications.
Proficiency in audio and video editing software programs
General understanding of computers and digital equipment and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology
Ability to take and follow directions, while also having a creative eye for improvements
Remuneration: N30,000 per month
